BREAKING NEWS!
The Ness of Brodgar closed to the public 16 August, 2024 and is currently being restored to the field it once was. Read about this year’s finds and thoughts on the DIG DIARY at https://nessofbrodgar.co.uk . I had a very full summer painting on site. It was filled with the challenges of wet, cold and windy summer. This makes all the creative work inspired from the site even more special as it has endured nature and holds the power of painting in good and adverse conditions.
OVER THE EDGE: Paint and Brush beside Trowel and Stone, was an exhibtion of over 60 original works of oil painting, watercolour, and prints held 28 July – 11 August, in the Northlight Gallery, Stromness, Orkney. Throughout the exhibition, there were talks from various folks involved with the dig from Nick Card, Anne Mitchell, Jim Rylatt, Scott Pike, Dr. Antonia Thomas and Dr. Jo McKenzie

I headed out to catch the sunset at the Ring of Brodgar, but the mist or haar was moving in and in seconds, that hill was gone. I gave up on the standing stones as they sit lower than this spot and they had disappeared in the mist. Size 11 x 11 inches FRAMED oil on canvas board Shipping Included
